A Natural Transition from Nursing to Animal Care

As a Nursing graduate, Clarette has always found joy in caring for others. Her professional journey at Thetis Heights Veterinary Clinic began in September 2025, driven by a lifelong interest in understanding and supporting animals. She brings the same compassion and dedication to our clients and patients that she once applied to human healthcare, ensuring every visitor feels welcomed and heard.

Bridging the Gap Between Humans and Pets

Clarette’s transition into veterinary medicine has been fueled by her observation that animal patients often possess just as much personality as humans. She thrives in the dynamic environment of the clinic, where her background in care allows her to connect deeply with the community. She finds that the unique character of every dog and cat that walks through our doors makes each day at the clinic interesting in the best way.

A Global Passion for Animals

Clarette’s love for animals spans across borders. While she has two beloved Shih Tzus back in the Philippines, she has also spent time caring for her husband’s cat. Her desire to constantly learn more about pet health and behavior led her to expand her own furry family right here in Langford; in April 2026, she officially adopted two kittens named Sushi and Nori.

Life Beyond the Clinic

When she isn’t greeting neighbors at the front desk, Clarette is likely exploring the local culture of the Westshore and beyond. She is a true foodie who loves:

  • Exploring new local cafés
  • Going on simple hikes and enjoying patio drinks
  • Hosting a good barbecue for friends

As a Filipina who loves to cook, Clarette views food as a way to show care and connect with those around her. Whether she is sharing a meal or helping a pet owner navigate a visit, her goal is always the same: to foster a sense of community and warmth.
