Dr. Jay Rolfe

Practice Owner & Chief Veterinarian

Dr. Jay Rolfe has spent his entire life adoring animals. He knew from a young age that a hands-on career with the earth’s creatures was his true calling. Today, serving the pets and dedicated animal parents of Vancouver Island is his dream realised. As the owner and Chief Veterinarian of Thetis Heights Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Rolfe brings decades of expertise and genuine compassion to every patient he meets.

Dr. Rolfe graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986, where he developed a specialised interest in exotic animals. After a year of practice in Prince George, the lure of the coast brought him to Vancouver Island. Following several years in emergency medicine in Victoria, he transitioned to day practice to establish his own roots in the community.

His leadership in local animal care began in 1990 with the founding of The Avian Clinic and the purchase of Victoria Veterinary Clinic. His practice group grew to include Glanford Animal Hospital in 2003 and eventually Thetis Heights Veterinary Clinic. In a move to better serve the region, these practices merged into the modern, cohesive team that neighbours and pets rely on today.
