At Thetis Heights Veterinary Clinic, we are committed to providing the latest in veterinary technology to keep your pets happy and pain-free. Laser Therapy (also known as Photobiomodulation) is a non-invasive, drug-free treatment designed to reduce inflammation and accelerate the body’s natural healing process.

How Does Laser Therapy Work?

Our team uses a specialized handpiece to deliver therapeutic infrared light to damaged tissues. This light targets the mitochondria in your pet’s cells, stimulating them to regenerate and return to optimal function.

The best part? It’s completely safe. The laser only affects damaged cells, leaving healthy tissue untouched while often reducing or even replacing the need for traditional pain medications.

What to Expect During a Session

We prioritize your pet’s comfort. Laser treatments at our Langford clinic are fast, soothing, and typically last between 5 to 10 minutes.

  • No Prep Required: No shaving or clipping is necessary.
  • Safety First: We provide “Doggles” (laser-safe eyewear) for your pet and protective glasses for you if you choose to stay in the room.
  • A Relaxing Experience: Most pets enjoy the soothing warmth of the laser; many even fall asleep during their treatment!
  • Tailored Plans: While some pets see immediate improvement, others may require a series of sessions. Our vets will create a custom schedule based on your pet’s specific needs.
